Bobby Hill
As, a true native of Asheville, N.C.   My careers have kept me traveling between the east and west coast. Working over the years with three of the major fortune 500 companies, I  developed a strong relationship with what makes the heart of any business or company, “The Customer”. Being recognized for the passion and leadership, a high point of my career, I was leading a staff and management team of 500 plus employees and over 30 million in sales for my region .Keeping within my field, I then began to explore more of my passion in design which led me to South Beach in Miami, Fla. It was there I knew I had found my true talent in design working with home furnishings. I was able to work with a number of designers in executing commercial T.V. broadcast and commercial business designs. Now after  returning to Asheville, I began to take on a new challenge in the field of floral and event planning. Having worked with colors, textures and placement in the home furnishing industry, I was able to grasp quickly and execute the customers vision. I soon began taking on local fundraising in hosting galas of 300 patrons then leading to functions of up to 900 patrons in 2007 and 2008. I soon realized what I had achieved in all my careers, was coming full circle to Asheville where I had started. I was bringing back all the knowledge and skills to create my own business and company. It was then BobbyMark’s Designs was launched and open for business.

Mark Arrington
Mark Arrington is co-owner of BobbyMark’s Designs, the business he and longtime partner Bobby Hill own and operate. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mark graduated from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk near Boone after growing up primarily in the southeast. After living and working twelve years in the South Beach and Miami hospitality and special event scene, he returned to WNC six years ago to be near family. Since his return, he has worked on a number of  special area events, including hosting galas of 300 to 900 patrons for the popular Asheville Area Arts Council “Color” Balls (Red, White, and Purple), Asheville Film Festival, and events for Biltmore Estate and Eblen charities. In addition, Mark has lent his skills to a number of high profile weddings, both locally and nationwide.

Mark says he got into this business because “I love people, love making them happy. I have a high energy level that I have learned to channel into creativity and design. I love this business, because it always keeps things interesting and exciting even when I’m working under pressure.”

Mark likes to incorporate his love for modern, contemporary style into the events he designs but is quick to point out that, above all, he first gets to know his clients personally, to understand their styles as well and then help create an event that makes them comfortable. Having spent so many years in the Art Deco capital of the United States, Mark continues to draw inspiration from the blend of Asheville’s Art Deco architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. He also gains ideas from designers such as Calvin Klein, Tom Ford, and Armani.

Mark lives in Asheville and in his free time, enjoys fishing, travel, and spending time in his country home.
